Arqiva launches new channel Arise News on Freeview

Arqiva has announced the launch of global news and entertainment channel ARISE News in standard definition on Freeview channel 136, using the more advanced Digital Video Broadcasting technology MPEG4 DVB-T2. Arise News will be available to those Freeview viewers who are within the broadcast coverage of Arqiva’s new HD multiplex – around 72% of the UK population – provided they are watching a Freeview HD compatible iDTV or Freeview HD set top box. The Arise News service would also be available to YouView, BT Vision and TalkTalk TV homes within this coverage area.
